Five - A- Day Brief - Book Cover

From discussions with colleagues I have decide to ahead with the fun idea of using felt fruit and vegetables, and that’s type of imagery for the book.  I have already started to consider my graphic out come which gets children to interact with the whole cooking process from gathering ingredients, to cooking and of course enjoying eating fruit and vegetables.  As part of the book, all recopied has images, which highlight the ingredients that are needed paying attention to the fruit and vegetables.  At the back of the book is a series of felt pages, which has pre, cut fruit and vegetables shapes.  The idea is that parent and children, take note of what ingredient need to gather from the supermarket, they go to the back of the book and take with them the fruit or vegetables needed, and place them in a small bag, which also come with the book.  The parent and children then go to the supermarket, and take out the felt shapes and go and identify the fruit and vegetables to but.  I think this makes the process more fun for the children and allows the parents and children to interact.

My logo colour was taken form my chosen imagery.  As we are doing a campaign on 5 – day I though it would be clever to make the type fun by making the “Y” resemble a carrot.
