These are the initial ideas I came up with for my book design. The front cover image is meant to entice the audience to pick up the book. I’ve used a really nice imagery of nice foods, something that kids would like the look of it. Two of the ideas are similar on both the front and back design. The 3rd is slightly different the imagery is more literal to the topic, but in a fun way using pretend felt fruit and vegetables!
Front- idea to show the audience the type of food they can look to make if they follow the recipe in the book.
Back - the idea of the image is to show what is left after you have eaten the yummy food!!! and also a small description of what is in the book.
Spine - uses the imagery fro the back of the book and the book title.
Book Title - shows the different ideas i had for the type, one is in keeping it quite plain and the other replaces the letter "U" with a image of a cupcake which fits in with the style of the typeface. I choose the name yummy to indicate the recipes are fun and yummy in created food from using fruit and vegetables.
This idea uses imagery which uses felt made fruit and vegetables. I imagined children being creative and having fun by making these. i though this was a good theme to base my idea around.
I have decided to take this idea forward to develop for my book jacket design
